WHY COACHING?

We live in uncertain times, seemingly tossed about by powerful forces that feel harmful, unsustainable, and inequitable. Amidst all the anxiety, how might we begin to plant seeds of hope? How might we build new narratives of abundance, resilience and mutual thriving?

We each have a role to play. I am here to help you access your inner resourcefulness so you can step fully into your role as a leader: of yourself, your family, your organization, and your community.

About Tina

I am a mother, an immigrant daughter, and an ex-tech worker. Through my life experiences, I’ve developed an awareness of the roles we play in incumbent systems, the necessity of survivalism as a strategy, but also a deep desire to rewrite the narrative—both for ourselves and the next generation.

I am trained in the Co-Active Coaching Model, a collaborative and client-led approach that holds all people as naturally creative, resourceful and whole. When we work together, we are guided by your agenda, not mine. Through the combined energy of our back-and-forth, we arrive at new insights and truths about your life that you can leverage to generate new possibilities, come to decisions, and take courageous next steps.

FAQs

  • Coaching can feel therapeutic, but it is not therapy. The simple answer is that therapy tends to focus on past experiences and how they affect the present. Coaching tends to focus on the present and how that translates into future action. The two can work hand-in-hand, and many clients find having both a therapist and a coach helpful.

  • As a relatively new coach working towards certification, I set my rate to $85/hour. More established coaches may charge anywhere from $150-$350/hour. In the future, as I become more established, I plan to introduce sliding scale so that coaching can remain accessible to as many people as possible.

  • Though my coaching style is highly adaptable, I tend towards loving and honest directness. I work best with clients who are open, collaborative and welcoming of hard truths.

  • We will decide together, as it relates to what you are working to achieve. Once a week is most common, however bigger goals on shorter timelines can benefit from more closely spaced sessions. Likewise, if you have more time and space to work towards your goals, biweekly is also possible.

  • This depends so much on the style, self-awareness, goals, timeline and intentions of the client. Clients who have done years of therapy or other inner work sometimes progress towards their coaching goals more quickly because they can already access the language needed to pinpoint their intentions. The size and scope of the goal also greatly impacts the number of sessions. Ongoing check-ins and open communication will help me suggest a realistic number or cadence of sessions to support you.
